Goat Post: Issue 02

Welcome! This week, we’re tipping our caps to a summer baseball collegiate and elite prospect league, two great golfers who happen to be sisters, plus NBA and NFL athletes turned entrepreneurs. And have I mentioned a shot at free swag? There, I just did. Scroll away.
Current Attractions
The Marshalls: In Utah, summer shapes stars
“The Marshalls” isn’t just about baseball — it’s about a bond that endures. Created with heart. Built to shape futures. Fueled by the belief that players should be prepared for the pressure that makes diamonds. The Marshalls program is a highly respected college development and game-action focused baseball organization. Since 2007, it has been a proving ground for those committed to putting in the work. This includes MLB All-Stars such as Bryce Harper, Kris Bryant and John Buck, plus many more big-time ballplayers. Goatnet looks at the roots, but more, at the human interest and value everybody associated with it has to offer. The setting is spectacular. We’ve seen the tree of trajectories firsthand, tracking players as they grow, grateful to agree when Kris calls it one of the best summers he’s ever had. What stands out especially is that it keeps getting better.
Team Phung: Fairways. Family. Phenomenal.
Amelie and Alexa Phung aren’t just two of the most promising young golfers in the world — they represent everything it takes to seriously pursue success. Part of that also means genuinely loving it, individually and as part of a team. Team Phung rocks.
Amelie (17) is headed to Rice University on a Division I golf scholarship, where she’ll study engineering and business this fall, as the coveted cornerstone of a newly formed women’s golf program.
Alexa (13) is a two-time Drive, Chip & Putt National Champion, and she balances four-hour daily practices with STEM tutoring and competitive chess.
Raised in Queens, centered around family (their Dad and brother caddy!), their focus, reps and mental toughness required in golf have carried over into the classroom and their lives. Their story is a reminder that greatness isn’t something anybody is given. It’s something you build. So in a way, Amelie and Alexa already are elite architects.

From Locker Rooms to Boardrooms
Captured on the ground in Frisco, Texas, at the first-year ACTIV Summit and at The Post NYC Clubhouse, these athletes have gone from crushing it on game days to building brands, backing startups and leading ventures of their own. These aren’t just second acts — they’re blueprints for how to multitask toward what’s next, bolstered by the same work ethic that earned wins for the names on the front of their chests.
Thaddeus Young, veteran NBA forward and early-stage investor through Rebel Ventures, credits his growth in business to the lessons learned on the court — shaping how he builds teams, makes decisions and navigates roadways.
Robert Griffin III, 2011 Heisman Trophy winner, reflects on the mindset of elite athletes — where greatness comes from the grind, staying locked in and trusting instinct inspired by honest, all-in preparation.
Christian Ponder, former Florida State star and first-round NFL draft pick, is the founder of The Post. He’s creating a space where former athletes channel their elite wiring — what he calls the “athlete operating system” — and apply it to business and life with the same drive, structure and accountability they cultivated in sports.
Justin Forsett, former NFL running back and Hustle Clean co-founder, credits a shoot-my-shot pitch to Target during Super Bowl week as the moment he realized he could thrive in business. Sleeping on a friend’s couch, product in his backpack, he bursted into the opening like a superback — and landed his brand in every Target store nationwide, where it has remained after eight years.
That just about does it for this week.
I’m especially fired up about the month ahead.
Our platform, Goatnet.io, is about to make another great stride.
We’ll share more about that in the next newsletter.
Until then, Goat Big!
But first, float your goat.
Not just to play the apparel lottery, but to honor a Goat with a story that serves a purpose we all respect.
Greatness.
Afterthought: If you opt out of this newsletter, we know who you are.
Somebody tell my college classmate, Drew. 😉
Everyone else, thanks for being here.
